Hello people far more Knowledgeable than I.

I've heard you guys Stateside talking about 'Euro Reflectors' alot. And I can see them on all the European cars, therefore I assume they are a legal requirement here.

Mmmmm... as you can see my sport has none, and there is no space for them on the rear bumper. Could this be a BMW oversight or have I just made a big mistake even mentioning it?

comments gratefully received

They took em out in the US verions because of some DOT regulations .
Now you just have painted inserts, www.bekkers.com has them for cheap - just pop em in.

From your picture, you have the M sports package, or some other bumper, because the style on your car is not the stock E60 bumper. Great looking car by the way!

The UK Sport E60 has a completely different rear bumper than the standard SE model.
My forthcoming 520 Sport in jet black should look similar to your carbon black except under bright sunlight.
Which interior do you have - pics please.

Sorry no interior pics yet. I'll post soon. I was just curious to find out why the normal bumper has the reflectors (I thought it must be a legal requirement) and why the sport bumper does not.

This is a guess, but I believe there is a refector within the rear lamp assembly that may meet the requirement, and that the SE just has the lower ones as extra???

I think it's the answer CRRobert gave you. The rearlamps already have reflectors so they are not needed.

The trim beneath your doors is different and better looking than what we have in the US. It looks like you have a M Sport Package. Your car is beautiful.
