I bought an ETK cd from ebay but do not have an installation password. Any ideas what the latest password might be?

Select the European (ECE) market when installing. No password required. Same information access.

Its either berlin65, berlin 95 or berlin 56. Do a search.

Does any of this help ?

Installation: (System Admin Tool)

Insert Disc 1 into your CD drive.
Before installing the parts catalogue it will be necessary to install the system administration programme by running SETUP.EXE from the following folder [CDDrive]:\WIN95\BMW\ETK\ or type [CDDrive]:\WIN95\BMW\ETK\SETUP.EXE from the run command, replacing [CDDrive] with the actual drive letter within your system.
Select your preferred country or language option for the setup (this is just for the setup interface only).
Select your preferred country or language option for the SysadmTool programme.
Installation: (ETK/EPC)

Run the newly installed SysadmTool programme from the desktop icon or start menu.
From within the SysadmTool programme, select EPC (may be called ETK) on the toolbar and then Install.
Select the market variation that you wish to have as default. (I strongly recommend selecting Europe as this will install all the world database variations (full options), these can easily be configured later within the programme.) If you decide to install as USA then you will have a restricted range and will need to reinstall later to get the full options. If you wish to have access to the MINI range then you must install as Europe.
The password for installing a market variation other than Europe = berlin56.
Select your preferred country or language option for the setup (this is just for the setup interface only).
Insert Disc 2 when prompted. (You may have Windows Autorun search the disc, this will not affect the installation. Simply close the folder after the installation has completed)
Select your preferred country or language option for the EPC configuration, leave all other fields blank.
Loading the Price Database: (ETK/EPC)

The Prices Database was attached with these instructions, unzip the file and run the BMW_Prices_EPC_042004.exe. The password missinglink. By default the price database is extracted into the default installation directory C:\BMW95\etk\preise if for some reason you selected a different directory for the installation when you installed the ETK/EPC then these files must be extracted into that directory ***\etk\preise.
To merge the price database with the parts catalogue run the SysadmTool programme and select EPC, then Load Prices, making sure the directory is C:\BMW95\etk\preise The install may take some time, the DOS window disappears by itself so DO NOT close this box.
Please note that the prices are the Suggested Dealer Price from Head Office in Germany and are in EURO?s which is a shame for us Brits and those in the USA.
Installing the Microsoft Database Servers (ODBC)

The Microsoft Database Servers (ODBC) are optional and maybe required if running a server system. If you are running a server then you will already have a good knowledge of administrative procedures.
To install the Microsoft Database Servers (ODBC). Insert Disc 1 and select SETUP.EXE from the following folder [CDDrive]:\WIN95\ODBC\ or type [CDDrive]:\WIN95\ODBC\SETUP.EXE from the run command.
After installing the Microsoft Database Servers (ODBC) drivers load the parts price database as detailed above.
Configuring: (ETK/EPC)

Run ETK from the desktop icon or start menu.
Select Additional Info.
Select Configuration.
Change the Tax or VAT rate to suit your country (the default is Germany?s Tax Rates). Select Store to save.
To check or change the default start-up options select Default Values. Change the Default Values as necessary for cars or bikes, country variations, left or right hand drive, language, Marque - BMW or Mini etc. Select store to save configuration.
If you wish to be prompted for the catalogue model variation during use, highlight more than one ie USA & MEX for American and Mexico models. Select store to save configuration.
Using for the First Time: (ETK/EPC)

Run and select Marque - choose BMW or Mini.
Select BMW - Select Ident. Motorcycles if you require BMW Motorcycles.
For vintage vehicles select Mobile Tradition.
The easiest way to select the correct vehicle is to input the last 7 digits of the vehicle chassis number or VIN. This will automatically select the model?s country variation and any optional extras installed, otherwise navigate through the selection process by using the arrows at the bottom.
When you have found and selected the Diagram that contains the part you require, highlight this part and select Parts Information to view the Suggested Dealer Price and other info.
If you cannot see the part number or there are missing or no part numbers displayed then this means you may are looking at the wrong Diagram for your vehicle. To check - always click on the number displayed on the picture. You will get a message "this part is not installed in the vehicle specified". This is typical if you are looking at parts that vary between models ie. vehicle trim, you may have airbags fitted and are looking at a non-airbag diagram by mistake.
If you try and select a part such as a Door Trim Panel and there is a description but no part number displayed. Again you must click on the number displayed on the picture to open up all the trim variants and right/left options........then you will see the part numbers.
If you want to just perform a parts number search without specifying a vehicle, then start the ETK/EPC programme and select Additional Info. Then select Parts Information, input the 11 digit part number in the space provided and hit the enter key on the keyboard.
If you want to check which vehicles a particular part is fitted to (great for sourcing parts from the breakers), then start the ETK/EPC programme and select Additional Info. Then select Parts Use, input the 11 digit part number in the space provided and hit the enter key on the keyboard.
Troubleshooting - Known Critical Issues:

If you encounter a problem please first check the integrity of the discs, try and copy the contents of the CD's to a folder on your hard drive. If the copy process fails then the disc is damaged, scratched, dirty or just unreadable. Please contact me if this is the case.
If you get a Transbase.exe error and have the 02/2004 TIS already installed, then please downgrade the sysadm programme to the one supplied on the ETK/EPC disc.
The ETK software appeared to install correctly then upon running for the first time, an error message ?unable to open the ETK database" is displayed. Please reinstall with your anti-virus software disabled. Your anti-virus software has prevented some of the key components from being installed.
During the setup you will be asked for the installation directory. If you choose to install in a different folder or drive other than the default C:\BMW95\ DO NOT install the software in a directory with "space" character in the directory name. The DOS script files will not understand the path name with "space" character in between, such as "Program Files". The script files will fail. The User can install the software on a drive other than C:\ such as D:\BMW95\....
Please ensure the monitor resolution is set to 1024 x 768 (minimum). Higher resolutions work fine. Lower resolutions may cause some buttons to be obscured. This will depend on your graphics card and driver compatibility. The software was written for monitor resolution 1024 x 768.
