Hi all, I'm comparing two sets of wheel ET's:

Standard: 19" 331's: Front 8½? ET33 and Rear 9? ET44
vs.
Option: 19" 235's: Front 8½? ET25 and Rear 9½? ET39

Tires are Front 245/40 and Rear 285/35 19?

My calculation brings the option wheels (235's) outwards Front 8 mm and Rear 11,35 mm
compared to the standard 331's.

Do you think my calculations are correct?

You are correct with the front (8mm outwards)but you are not correct with the rear,it is the difference between the two offset figures,i.e. 5mm outwards. The TYRE will be 5mm outwards even though the rear wheel is 1/2" wider on the option wheel.

I always use this for offset calculations. Don't forget changes in inner clearance as well!

Yup...the rear has 5mm diference...

But I don't understand why you have ET44 on the rears (and ET 33 on the front) of your standard set...I understand that the e60 needs ET15 to ET25 to fit right..

Are you using spacers on this standard set??

People haven't even figured out what's a "proper" size for the E60 besides the typical, conservative fitment and now the F10 is just around the corner. Hopefully those with the F10 will be more adventurous and push the limits a little.

Small/lower ET True for E60 RWD but the big/small ET also true for E60 AWD/xi/X-Drive like mine

Front is easy and OK, but the rears...

The rear wheel will come out 5 mm (44 - 39 = 5), this is easy.
But I'm adding to that a half of (the other half goes inside) a half of an inch (9 1/2" - 9") = some 12 mm, divided by 2 = 6 mm.

Outwards 5 + 6 = 11 mm!

To TakmaN
The inside will not be a problem since the 6 mm inward will be compensated almost fully by the 5 mm outward = 1 mm inward.

The optional rear tire will be 285/35 19" (doesn't really matter in the wheels calculations, as a +10 mm wider tire is legal in Finland).
The standard 331 rear wheel would be 9" and the tire 275/35 19?
