Hi
I changed my seats from cloth to leather ages ago and it set off my airbag light. Ive ran inpa and the error comes up:
98DF Resistor detonation pill detonation circuit3(Seat belt tensioner right) to small. Error clears until you restart!!
Can anybody provide any input on what this means??
Any help appreciated.

Seems like an SRS malfunction. You might need to visit the dealer to have them clear the code completely.

Did you disconnect the battery when you removed the seats? If you remove the seats and the battery is connected, with ignition on, it will set an srs fault. Also check the seat belt tensioner and make sure that the connector is plugged in. the tensioner should be the actual locking mechanism that the seat belt locks into. You'll see the connector if you look between the seat and center console.

Hi, no i didn't which i realised after i'd changed them!! The tensioner connector is on properley, ive checked and run inpa on it loads of times with the seat out.
Although the error is stating the seat belt tensioner(in red), when i disconnect it with ignition on, it shows error "srs fault, drive carefully"(in amber). That makes me think im looking in the wrong place!!
Ive also tried seat pad control unit and tensioner from my old seat, which i know were fine...................... Totally baffled to find a result!!!

have you had anyone just clear the fault first? srs faults don't just go away by restarting the ignition. they have to be cleared using a scanner
