Hi,

I have got a lot of pain in the backside of my knee. I can not straight my right leg anymore since a long driving trip. Then after few days pain was gone away. I went on holiday without car for a week. No problems at all. Yesterday I am back from holiday so drove my car for a half hour and the backside of my knee is hurting again.

Does anyone of you have same aching pains in leg area due to a wrong setup of angle or height from your seat. I have sport seats so I also use the small adjustable part of the seat supporting the few inches above your knee. Hope your understand which part of the seat I mean.

I have got pain in my foot too but I do not think this is caused by the seats

Thx for replies

Hello Krekski,

Foot pain is mainly caused by an nerve being compressed in the pelvis area.

This could be caused by two things, first an too small seat, feet should be while seating with legs stretched at around 30 cm from each other. With other words, the sportseat may be too small for the width of your pelvis.

Other cause can be unsufficient support of the upper leg, even with adjustable seats.

Please be wise, contact a specialist on custom seats. They can measure your body and give an advise on replacing the seat for an Recaro (small), Scheel (medium), ASS (large) or modifying the BMW seat.
In Belgium "orthopedisch specialist".

If they advise another seat, this is the most worthy option you can get on a car.

Several of my company drivers suffered same problems when driving a lot.

Good luck.

Sounds like it not just from the seat of the BM, have you injuered your leg before?
I think you need to check your leg at the doctors just incase.
I have the standard seat and I have no prob. at all. I tend to sit very low and back.
I hope you get better

Make sure you don't keep a wallet in the back pocket!

Is a large seat really called ASS?

I have never injured my feet or legs. I also put everything in the storage space of door, so no wallets or cell phone in my trousers. And I'm 1m67 and 70 kg so the seats are really kingsize for me.

This afternoon I already adjusted all the settings so hope to notice some difference soon.

Hi Krekski,

I've standard-seats but I've EXACTLY the same problem with the backside above my left knee. It's really a pain, that we bought such an expensive car and then this happens...

In my opinion it has something to do with the pitch of the seat. In my case the seat produces on the front border too much pressure to my leg. Unfortunately, it's not possible to put the seat lower on the front border. It's only possible to move the seat lower on the back (

In the meanwhile I've found a position where it is better now, but still not 100% satisfying.

You can try the following:

Put your seat most upwards, move the seat backwards as far as you have goot control over the pedals, move the back of the seat uprightly and - for me most important - put the steering wheel full out (towards you).

I go jogging in the morning usually, but that's 3 weeks ago. So probably not the cause of my pain.

It's indeed stupid paying so much money for pain. If I had the choice again no m-pack for braking at each bump on the road, and just standard normal seats without all the adjustments angle, leg support, ...

Off course this is a logic reasoning. Emotionally I still choose m-pack
