I have been experiencing engine vibration lately all the time when the car is not moving. When ever the car is on, I can hear the engine vibration (not running, vibration) and if I put my hand on the dash, I can feel the vibration. I opened the hood, and everything seems to sound normal. Any ideas or suggestion where to look or what to fix? I recently changed the oil and oil levels are fine, no leaks apart from a minor leak on the sump.

Depending on the mileage, ignition coils and spark plugs can contribute to vibrations. Also, deteriorating/deteriorated engine mounts can cause vibrations. Use a flashlight and look at the engine mounts and see if fluid is coming out of the engine mounts.

Assume you looked for error codes.
Also look for fuel injector problems, loose or disconnected hoses (especially vacuum) and a defective oil filler cap.

Engine mounts attach the engine to the car frame while providing vibration dampening. They can be seen from the bottom of the car as well as from wheel wells (after removing the splash shields). On the passenger's side, engine mount is under exhaust manifolds. Typically, replacement of engine mounts require the engine to the lifted enough to remove the old mount and put new one in. So, you'd need an engine hoist. If you've never done this type of thing before, find an independent mechanic that works on BMWs.

Here are the pics I could take of what I think could be engine mounts. If yes, can anybody comments if the mounts are going bad?

Also, which vacuum hoses are you referring to? Do excuse my ignorance, I am new to all this.
Lastly, how can I test the oil filler cap being defective?
