Default Engine suddenly idling erratcally

Hi All,

Filled my 550i with Hess premium on Friday night. Started the car this am and it is idling very rough and the idle is bouncing between 1500 and 2500 rpm. No dash warning or malfunction of any kind is being displayed. I'm thinking perhaps a bad batch of fuel. Anyone else have any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks, Ed

My 05-545 does the same thing only at cold start during warm up. I was told I have a vacuum leak still trying to find it. When I do i'll let you know

Thanks, will probably purchase a fuel additive, dry gas or BG44k if I can find it. It's too much of a coincidence that the problem started right after I filled the tank.

Could def. be bad gas. I would run a fuel additive and fill up with fresh fuel. Finish out the tank and see what happens afterwards. Are you using Top-Tier Fuel? What station do you normally go to?
