My Ride: BMW 530i 05 Auto.
hi all ..
i have an 05 530i, i had a drag race today with an E39 530i, sport mode , DTC (not DSC) was off. it's not my first time and it used to be a piece o cake, but not today
my car still has low mileage, less than 37k, and I would say it is well maintained, what possibly could have happened ? By the way what comes to my mind is the basic maintenance stuff, spark plugs (never changed yet), oil (8k) and air filter (12k) i just had the feeling about my car it is not performing as usual when i press the pedal down to floor ??? Any possible reasons ?? Please reply because i'm gonna explode

guys try to be more helpful pls !!! in my country you are not allowed to increase your engine size that far, it's only 10% that youan go for so far !!! i need ideas to apply on my engine !

Yes I would do basic tune up stuff, mainly spark plugs, changing filters, etc. Does it seem flat low RPMs, high RPMs, or just not pulling well at all? Also, do you have a reference point, how well it should perform? More expensive things could be fuel injectors (at least a cleaning) or the Mass Air Flow Sensor.
One other thought. If an auto, it might be starting in 2nd. Be sure to go in to sport or manual mode for a 1st gear start.

if the e39 had manual gearbox it does 0-100 km/h in 7.1 the same as a e60 automatic ( 6.9 for e60 manual). The rest depends on the driver, tires, mods.
