engine number location 530d

where can i find the engine number for 530d.

on the 535d you have to remove the plastic engine cover and use flashlight and a small dentist type mirror with long handle. When you stand opposite the front license plate the number is on the right side of the engine but is very difficult to see because its covered with cables and various other things. I pressume on the 530d it would be there as well. Good luck.

p.s. careful not to drop anything in the process otherwise you would have to remove the engine guard underneath in order to take it out.

In the UK the engine number is on your documents...

chassis number is always on the docs but some countries require that you present the engine number as well when registering the car. When buying a car from Germany for example you dont have the engine no. so you have to look for it
