I was so happy last week that I finally picked up my 535i after more than 3 months wait on the order. Everything is good until this morning at startup. She is not even a week old with 350km, "Engine malfunction! Reduced power" came up. I hope this nightmare will end soon. Since this is my first bimmer, hopefully it won't be my last.

I think the error message is not just a software issue, because I can feel the car vibrating (shivering) violently at idle (which stop at traffic light). When the car starts to move, it feels fine other than little lack of power. Anyone ever experienced this and how long after you pick up you car and this happened?

Today seems to be the Engine Malfunction day, my car did the same thing, i felt like only half of the engine was being used. i just dropped it off at the dealership. We'll see

After reading the titile of this thread, the first thing that came to my head was 'sprint booster'...

Sorry, no sprint booster involved here. No mods at all, all stock.

No, it's not just a 535i issue. I had with my 550i, too.

Just got a word from BMW saying that there is a miss fire at the No. 3 cylinder, fuel injector has been order and will be replace tomorrow. Hopefully everything goes well. I am keeping my finger crossed to have her back b4 the weekend.

Strange that they would replace the fuel injector instead of checking/replacing the spark plug and/or coil pack on that cylinder.
