So I replaced the coil pack and spark plug. The car runs fine with exception of the battery dying but the P0301 code keeps coming up. It won't let me erase it. I'm not sure why it keeps doing that...

What are you using to erase the code. INPA should erase it with no problem and also a code scanner. Did you put some SL1 in the tank also. If the code does not erase and you have driven it for around 50 miles then something is wrong. Disconnecting the battery I think will not erase the code.

I'm not sure what SL1 is... I use the Matco MD60 to scan and delete codes. I drove it about 15miles to see if it would still shake and it didn't. I've had the battery on a trickle charge for 2days now. It still hasn't fully charged. I'm wondering if it's the IBS that's draining the battery and causing the misfire code. I tried deleting the code but it wouldn't and I'm afraid to drive the car around with the check engine light on.

Red Line SL1. Its what I have been using for years and has worked wonders. Did you take the battery out to charge it. Thats how I charge. Have you done a test on the battery? Change it out if its bad. The only issue you should be worrying about is the battery issue. The engine is fine. You need INPA if you own a BMW and will work on it regularly.
