Engine change 525i into M5
i own a 2004 525i
i was thinking of buying an M5 engine and install it instead of the 525 engine.
my question is: Is it feasible? or is it gonna be somewhat of a pain in the ass getting all the electrical parts right?

Impossible? no.. but the amount of work needed is far more than you think. Engine, trans, drivetrain, axles, cooling systems all need to be replaced.

My Ride: 530i
Model Year: 2004
Engine: M54
1) - back the 525i out of the garage
2) - buy an M5
3) - pull the M5 into the garage.
seriously, it's not worth the effort/headaches. These aren't the M cars of yore where an engine could be swapped out in a weekend.

e60 m5 isn't expensive......it is around low $20s under 80k mileage
Purchasing and doing job will cost $20 (engine+trans+intake+etc. = $10, will need chasis work to hold M5 power)
And you will not able to sell it since e60 m5 is not expensive
Anyway after all...selling 525i and get M5 is best. Not even an option, it is must...

This is actually easy to do. I'd recommend doing it this way:
1) - back the 525i out of the garage
2) - buy an M5
3) - pull the M5 into the garage.
