Hi Guys,
I pulled out my trans pan on my E60 M54 auto trans 6HP19, and and I can see one connector on the mechatronics unit near to the solenoid (coloured) end, which is empty? I have had a few problems with my local INDY due to which I had to do this DIY, so I am thinking why is this connector empty? Does anyone know what this connector is and used for for (pic attached).

When i did my 550 i used The CTSC - ZF Parts for the part and they had install pdf's for each version of mechatronics which are slightly different. You may look at your model and the install pdf to see if any steps are obviously missing. I know with mine there was a speed sensor that was under the mecho unit and i had to plug in. I initially covered it but luckily only had 2 screws in, so removed and placed into position.
This is a pretty easy repair if you need to pull it down again to look. FYI i didnt have to pull the exhaust off to get the sleeve in and out. But it was really tight and i used a few tools to do the job.
Best of luck!
