My Ride: F11 520d white, auto, professional sat-nav with internet, variable damper control, sports steering wheel, extended lighting, retractable tow bar, wing mirrors with dimming & folding, full electric seats with memory & lumber adjustment, etc.
Does anyone have details / pics of the electric tow bar for the 2009 / 10 E60 or details from the manual?

No Im talking about the tow hook for a trailer SO3AC. Is this tied into the car electronics i.e. not just brakes & lights but DSC etc?

The tow-bar I have fitted is the same one as the one you will have to mount on a 2009 model ( this type of tow.-bar is according BMW not avalible befor end 2006 , so I modified the wirring to fit in my 2003
) , and yes , the eletrical wirring is intigraded into the cars wireharness ( K_CAN_Bus HIGH & LOW ) , so that PDC is enabled when you connect a trailer in the electrical socket at the tow-bar.Also you will get faliur message if some of the light on the trailer is out of order , I get it even up in the Head up Display
It do not affect the DSC/ESP function.

I had one of these on my old Cayenne turbo.
Cant vouch for the bmw one but on the cayenne, due to its location, if it wasnt used often it was prone to seizing up due to road grime, etc.
