I wish I got the option. My car gets very hot at school in the parking lot. I want to get it installed in the dealer. I wonder if they can do it. I hope so ill ask. Did anyone try?

We really need Francois over here.

I think the main question is whether or not the wiring is in place at the rear window and at the driver's door (for the switch).

Everything else is just parts, I would imagine.

The 30% Huper Optik window film might be a reasonable alternative. It is supposed to screen out 61% of the heat. It really hasn't been tested much over 85 F here in Dallas, so far, but appears to be doing its job. I use the BMW sun shade for the windshield when parked in the sun for a long time.

I would be guest up above, I figured I might as well register. As far as getting used to having the shades up...not going to happen for me. I want em down unless needed. While I agree that you can see through them well enough to drive I prefer not to have to look through them. Guess this is one of those things that bugs some more than others.

You might find them disorienting at first but after some time, you don't even notice them. I've used them since 1998 now and I'll agree that at first I found them strange but it didn't take long for them to become "transparent" to me.

Obviously, you are right that it's an individual thing. Your mileage may vary.

Can you program the windows & sunroof to roll down when you get out of class?

The key will do it and when skimming the manual, it appeared this was an option.

I never leave somewhere the same time everyday so I haven't researched it more.

I was also contemplating getting the rear screen (just bought car off lot, so took what I could get) but figured I could always just tint.

Any major difference between tinting & the screen?

Don't believe that opening the car is an option except when you are within key-control range. Too many predators might take advantage of the situation.
