EGS bricked after software upgrade failed -- HELP PLEASE !!!

Hello,

I'm panicking this morning and would appreciate any help.

I serviced my transmission yesterday (new pan + oil) and everything went well, it fixed the main problem I had with with the rough shifting.

I've been reading all week of people recommending to do the EGS module update with WinKFP and decided to try it this morning. I've done simple mods with NCS-Expert before, but had never used WinKFP. I have SP-Daten V.54, properly installed, WinKFP v.5.3.1 was configured following a PDF floating around of forums.

I have a 2004 530i (08/2003 production) with the automatic GA6HP19Z transmission, ECU Family GKE214. The software version was still stock, 7543092, which also corresponds to the assembly number.

I tried flashing it to ZB-Number 7552680, which from what I read was the recommended version. I can confirm that the assembly number in the GKE214.dat file corresponds to mine in INPA, 7543092 and that 7552680 is the last entry in the GKE214.dat file (last line).

FLASHING FAILED. The first blue bar went through 100% then it stalled at 0% and gave me a communication interrupted message. I tried updating again with the same result.

When I start the car I now get the following messages on iDrive
- Transmission fault
- Cruise control malfunction
- Engine fault

I cleared all the errors in INPA and these come right back at the next start.

The engine idle very rough. The dashboard will not indicate the selected gear AND MOSTLY with the pedal to the floor the car will not pass about 25 mph ! :bash::bash::bash:

Has anyone recovered from such a failure? Any input or recommendation is welcome. This is my daily driver. Thank you!

Problem Solved

After a whole morning of fear and anxiety, I changed the port Latency from 16 to 0.

I was then able to update the EGS without interruption. All errors are gone. :teehee:
