Earthing studs

Does anyone know where the earthing studs are situated in the engine bay?

Well you didn't mention what engine you have but here is the ground stud for the 550i.

earthing stud, meaning if you wanted to connect a battery charger or jump another car?????

there isnt one, you can connect the negative lead to any bare metal showing on the car to earth it, i have done a few times when i have had to jump my uncle vauxhall, connect the positive to the red and the black to the bare metal, like the chasiss bracket

here let me show you on this pic i have here

a close up shows that you can use the bolt sitting on top of the were the strut brace is > look

You're both correct. That is exactly where the ground terminal is as per owner's manual .

There is one....the one you have your negative clamp clipped to. Its called the ground stud.
