Beautiful, have not been there for a few years.

Used to go to Cheyenne Mountain (NORAD) every year. Once set a rented Hertz car on fire at the Peak. Did not know until guest sat in the rear seat and a puff of smoke rose up. It was starved for oxygen so had not burst into flame. Lady Park Ranger was walking by with some water for an overheated car. We pulled the seat out, cut out the seat cushion foam and she doused it with the water. I bagged it up and turned it in with car (FORD). Hertz wanted to charge me a grand or so. AMEX and I told them we would file lawsuit so they dropped it. The rear seat foam was too close to the chassis frame and the cat converter had generated enough heat to start it melting. Had we come right back down we may well have started a real fire. Never stopped me from going up each time.

Got a chance to take my kids up several times and they were always amazed at snow in July/August.

very nice pics ! i guess you didn't change to winter/snow tires because of that short trip. so did the car/tires handle/drive the same? btw, red license plate matches the red reflectors .

OK, so your sig says you live in Colo Springs but your e60 has North Carolina plates. What up with that?

Yes, you're right, I'm purely nosy.
