Default e60 transmission change

I have a 2010 528i e60 and I want to unscrew the transmission drain plug and refill with LifeGuard 6 transmission fluid.

I don't have the ability to put the car on a level surface.

What I was thinking about doing is unscrewing the drain plug, capturing all the fluid comeing out and measuring it in a container that shows the exact volume.

This way I can just pump in new fluid with the exact volume that came out.

The e60 will not be on level ground when I pump in new fluid, but does it matter?

Is there a flaw in this methodology?

Thanks,

To get all four off the ground, I drive the front on ramps then jack the rear under the diffy and put jackstands at the outboard jacking points. Nice and sturdy and just enough room to slide under.

as I said in your other post. You can't just measure what came out and put the exact amount back in. Kind of pointless to even worry about it.

You have to fill it until it drains out, start it up, get up to temp, fill it again. The correct process will make sure the correct amount is in there. Besides... what if the transmission had leaked at some point and does not have the correct amount in it now?

The car has to be level. Don't try this without it being on 4 jack stands

Noquarter is right. Do it right the first time and you will not have to go back a couple of days later to top off
