I've been noticing on other BMWs (current 3-, 6-, and 7-series; and old 5-series e39s) that there is a common feature in the taillights--4 horizontal red bars which light up independent of the brake lights, when at least the parking lamps are on. I think it is an extremely classy look, and sets apart the rears of Bimmers from other cars.
Since the Angel Eyes have become a shared feature started by the e39, how come the e60 didn't get the red horizontal bars on the taillights (or oblique bars, given the angled nature of the taillight itself)????
Please reply with your input/thoughts whether this would look good on e60.

Are you referring to the European reflectors? I think the reason why the E60 doesn't have them is because the DOT deemed them to be unsafe. However, you can get a pair of those reflectors from your dealer for about $30 or a little less and install it yourself. Look for it in th FAQ section.

It doesn't sound like he's talking about the reflectors.
Although I can't picture exactly what IHC is talking about, it's possible that BMW will add those rear lights as part of a freshening of the model.
You may recall that the E39 angel eyes were a result of a freshening in MY 2001. During that year, they also changed the tail lights...

What he's talking about is the horizontal lightrods-look of a lot of BMWs like the 7-series, E90, E92, etc tails. IMHO those don't look particularly good, whereas they used wider version of those on the 6 series (with a gradiented effect) and those look amazing.

Agree E60 should of had the LED "light rods" and the LED brake lights like on the E46 Coupe, 6 Series. Been discussed many time before on this Forum. General consenus is that its part of the BMW marketing and will be there when the E60 gets the mid-life face lift.
We all agree that it should have been there from the start
