e60 sunroof noise when open and close

Everytime I open and close my 2006 525i sunroof, there comes out a big noise, like the roof glass were broken or cracked. But I checked the roof afterwards and couldn't find anything.
Does anyone here encounter the same problem as I did? Any inputs are welcome.

Yup very common on the E60. Its the "cassette" thats misaligned on the sun roof... basically the tracks. Take it in. If they want to replace your WHOLE sunroof its not necessary... its just the cassette (thats BMWs term)
Mines starting to make the noise... but not that loud yet so I havent bothed to take it in yet.

Wait wait... BMW didnt fix the sunroof rattle WITH the software update?
seems like everything can be fixed with a S/W update.

Yes - there was a service bulletin about it, it's a known problem. just go to your dealer and he should be able to fix it.
