Would you think that would let the fuel pump running when the ignition is off ?

I think it is ekp definitely but may have relay or something so want to replace that first

As far as I know there is only a fuse (number 50) for the fuel pump. I am not aware of a relay for fuel pump.

cool aware of that so maybe it is the ekp .

will invest in a new one and see how that goes.

I think because the fuel pump is working when ignition is off , once it is turned on the relay can not access the fuel pump or get ok from it as it is ready because it is constantly pumping fuel or it can not communicate with ekp resulting in the fault .

further update,

I changed the dde relay once again ( another £14) wasted and no result

It seems the car is only doing this after a long or short journey which is longer than 10 minutes . it is random. and when it happens the fuel pump keeps running and runing non stop.

i managed to read the codes from fuel controller ( ekp) and here it is

6296 ekps: no pump speed

6295 ekps : no control current

any ideas? bear in mind i do unplug the control unit few times and try and start when the car goes into what i call daft mode( starts but does'nt turn on ).

also saw fff can : communication fault error

and finally to test my fuel pumps, i checked the rail pressure and it seems within range according to dis, it was 292.2 bar actual value and target value was 300.

when reving the engine the actual and target value remain apart by 9-10 bars max

any ideas?
