The fine was clocked at 9.14 AM, that was on the way up. Perhaps kena stopped at road block is a good thing, at least you got RM100 off.
What about on the way back? We were more aggressive then.

The feature is called Deadlocks in the UK (Europe).? Most manufacturers have this security feature apart from Mercedes.? The motor magazines in the UK were very critical about Mercedes for not having this security feature even though they argued it was for safety reasons.
The deadlocks can be switched off afaik, can't remember how though.? Something to do with pressing the lock button again I think.

Hmm, tried locking myself up in the car today. After pressing the lock button on the remote, I can still open the driver's door from inside. Does that mean my car has no deadlock?
If I'm not wrong you need to manually lock the car with the key in the key hole. That is considered deadlock. You can try it... with the windows down of course... with a handphone in your hand just in case.

[/quote]I believe it only works when you lock the car from the outside. Its part of the security/alarm. I guess if Singapore spec cars don't come with alarms (such a safe country) it may not have the function???

My Ride: Nothing to boast about!
I forgot to check last night. But I remember I have tried it with my E60 and I do have the deadlock function.
Since BMW530 mentioned this could be programmed, and since Edlee has later software, maybe it was turned off for him?

Anyway, I think this function is GOOD. Lets not have one careless parent derail us from the actual purpose of this function; to make it as difficult to steal as possible. As I said before, DO NOT LOCK YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR WITH OR WITHOUT THE AIR-CON RUNNING. Its a mighty dangerous thing to do.
True, this deadlock function might cause you to lock your kids in like that forgetful parent; but can you imagine the disaster you will experience if someone manages to get into your car because you de-activated the deadlock and kidnaps one of your kids? How will you feel if someone drives your car away with your kids kicking and screaming?
Think about it, my friends; especially those with young kids and those who are starting new families.
Also, why are there less BMWs than Japanese and Mercedes stolen in Malaysia? When I wirte this. I mean stolen from car parks whilst the owner isn't around; not at gunpoint.
