I've just talked to some people about their BMW 130i and they said that their I-drive service menu shows actuall water temperature..... I mean actuall one... you can watch it as you drive and it changes by a degree every few seconds......

Does the E60 has it too??? I'm on an older CIP so I do not have it for sure.... What about you guys with CIP 20 and up..... any pics???

I don't think the Idrive on the E60 has this function, but you can unlock the OBC (on board computer) and monitor the actual water temperature. The OBC is the display between the tach and speedo. You need to figure out the unlock code based on the last few digits of your VIN number. If you search this forum, there is a writeup somewhere on the exact method and the test number that relates to water temp. I can't remember where I read it, or I would provide you with a link.

Good luck.

Water temp gauge? Heck, I'm still looking for my Weather Band that's been standard in every 5 series for 20 years....until this one.

iDrive is silly.

My car has Weather Band in the radio panel. There are 7 WB Channels. Across the top of the initial communications selection band are FM WB CD AM (perhaps not in this order).

Yes, yours does have WB, but us early adopters get the short end as usual, no WB on '04 E60s...

My 2004 530 (01/04 build) has WB....?? I bought the car as a CPO, and as part of the make-ready, the dealer updated the software to "the latest everything". Not sure whether WB was there before the update or not.
