Today I used the rear sunshade for the first time and it went up ok. When I went back to the car the little plastic roller guides that attach the shade to the lifting arms broke on one side. A little while later the other side broke off. Can these be replaced and if so where might I be able to get them from? I tried a search here and on goggle and did not find anything. If anyone knows the part number please let me know? Thanks, I hope its not one of those that I have to replace the entire unit due to little broken plastic clips.

Thanks Rudy but the part I am looking does not show up in that diagram. I took a closer look and removed one side. Its a plastic guide thats attached to the top rail of the shade and connects to the two power arms. Its held in place with a rivet onto the arms. As the arms move the guide travels from the middle outward. I'm pretty sure the dealers wants the entire assemble replaced. I may end up making the part.

Here are some pics of what I am talking about.

I am going to have to remove the entire shade so I can drill out the rivets. If you have any removal instructions that would be most helpful. I took off the three 8MM screws from inside the trunk but the unit will not move. It looks like its being held down but I could not see the bolts from the top side but can see the bolt ends from inside the trunk. Thanks for your help.

If you look at page 3 of the .pdf in the following post:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=264281 You'll see how to remove the roller blind.

I think you are correct that you won't be able to buy the small part you're looking for, just the entire assembly...

Rudy, I have tried that but it still feels like the 3 bolts are holding the assembly down in place. I am able to see the bolt ends from the trunk. Page 3 of the PDF does not show the 3 bolts that are threaded from the shelf side. I have already removed the 3 from the truck side that are 8mm and it still will not budge.

Hi,

I am thinking to tackle this task too because I hear some rattle sometimes from that area while driving the car. If you were able to remove the blind, can you post the steps with pictures of the blind/parcel shell removal ?

Thanks,

On page one, it mentions removing the trunk screws -- from the looks of it, there may be a total of four screws...did you get them all?

I'm sure I got them all and all I could see was three from inside of the trunk. I have removed the two end caps on each side on top as well but when I try to pull up on the rear side of the shade assembly as noted in page 3 it does not budge. It feels like its being held solid in place. I may have to remove the entire rear shelf at one time instead.

Wondering if anyone has any pointers to removing the rear shade they may want to share? .
