I think the guys in Honk Kong have the UK well and truly beaten. Denmark almost certainly has as well due to the very high tax regime there.

Denmark:

520i = 659 500 kr = ? 87.120
525i = 710 000 kr = ? 93.791
530i = 775 500 kr = ? 102.443
545i = 1 130 000 kr = ? 149.273

530d = 792 457 kr = ? 104.683

+ automatic = ? 7800...

This country SUCKS ! there are 180 % taxes on cars + VAT!! (25%)

I have been in Sweden for 7 years, and have getting used to normaly carprices, so after moving back to Denmark, it's lik a chock for me again..

I work at an Audi dealer here in Denmark, and due to the high taxes, we install a lot of equiptment afterwards, because that's cheaper than buy navigation, leather seats and so on from factory! The danish cars are so boring!

But anyway, I can drive our E60 whem i'm at mon and dad's place

530d = ?104,683 ??? That's exactly twice the price we pay in France. Steptronic is ?2300 here. And I thought it was expensive! I get almost a Ferrari for this price...

E60Sim: I think you're a bit off on your calculations? EUROS? The automatic costs €7800 in Denmark? I find that very hard to believe.. it equals about DKK 57 000? Weird it's only ~NOK 20 000

Over here, the prices are like this:

520i: $73 300, €56 300
523i: $78 700, €60 000
525i: $89 800, €69 000
530i: $108 400, €83 000
545i: $165 200, €126 000

Neither these prices include steptronic.. which costs about $3100/€2400

Btw. The M5 will cost €184 000

In June I'm taking European Delivery of a 530i. We then plan to drive to the Copenhagen area to visit friends. Given that the car is so expensive compared to what Americans pay for it, is there any chance we might receive negative attention?

Don't ge me wrong; I love Denmark. However, I was on foot the last time I visited.

thanks,
Greg

I highly doubt it would attract unwanted attention. But if you're going there with your car, ensure that you park indoors in a secure garage.

We had our car parked outside the 71 Nyhavn Hotel (if I can recall correctly) for one night this summer. The morning we were leaving, there were quite obvious indications that someone had attempted breaking into the car by forcing up the driver's door. The car was parked right in front of the lobby, and the area was supposedly under video surveillance. The hotel was unable to get any valuable information out of the tapes. Luckily the damages to our car were minimal and easily fixed, but such an incident is still fairly annoying.. Anyhow - the 71 Nyhavn is a very ok hotel if combined with _safe_ parking
