cerbera - which tire models are the last/4th generation? i have bridgestone originals still from 2005 - 25000 km - will change those to the new ones. initialy was planing to go 'non-rft', but now more and more thinking to stay with rft ... just would be choosing carefully - google did not help this time ....
But that's four years ago.

I have an LCI 525dT with 16" non-runflats and standard suspension. The ride is smoooth. My only concerns are in tight bends and very high speeds +180 km/h, where I would like to have a harder suspension for full control. But I do straight highways mostly and for that the ride is perfect. And the car is silent ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
My little BMW 116i has runflats and it's a nightmare.

As a 06 525 owner ive been through this one this year
Despite new bridgestone RFTs it still felt bad, also the noise was like having knackered wheel bearings, however check the "rotation arrow" on the tyre points to forward motion this can also cause issues.
I've fitted some genuine 125 19" BMW rims with PS-2 front and Bridgestone RE50 non runflats on the back.
had to get the spare saver jack etc.
Its now a lot quieter - you hear a little road noise and wind rush now, despite the 19" wheels and skinny tyres.
Due to the wider tyres it feels less likely to loose the rear, especially in the wet
Maybe negotiate with the Dealer a trade in of wheels. On a BMW AUC car you can hand it back within 14 day I think maybe go down that route ?

I think he got sick, tossed his cookies in such a projectile fashion as to hit the windshield. Blinded by his own goo he ran off a cliff.
Anyway..as to my 2 pennies on the subject of RFTs. I really do not mind mine at all. I like them infact. I had non RFTs last Winter and will put them on again, but I find it makes the ride too much like a Lexus or Benz. And for comparison I also drive my Jeep Wrangler and Porsche. It is perfect for my tastes.

From the drives I have had in E60s both with and without RFT (both sports) I would be really surprised for you to be as dissappointed as you clearly are.
Go back to the dealer and try a demo to see if it is as "bad" as your car.
Just my suggestion.
Let us know how this works out...

Hi Mike,
first - do you have sport suspension or standard? What wheels is the car currently running on?
A change to non-RFL do smoothen the ride, but if you are extremely disappointed it may not help. It all boils down to what you expect from a car; going from acar with soften suspension, say Volvo or M-B, to a BMW will always be something of a cultural chock.
Try these topics:

Car is o.k. on good road surface (motorway) problem is on country roads.
Thanks for the links.
I plan to change to Non RFT and will let you know the result.
