Hi PoleApart,
you probably know that similar ugly buildings are not an exclusivity of Stalinist era. We in Italy have a lot of really ugly buildings from the sixties or the seventies, especially houses built by the government for low wage families. Most of them are simply horrendous, much worse than your "Palace of Culture and Science".
Back to the topic, how often do you meet any E60 collegue in Poland, nowadays?

BMW still has a major image issue here - people go for Audis or Mercs because big old BMW's have the "mafia car" connotation and old 3 series are bought by pimple faced teenagers who slap a shitload of fibreglass on the cars and crash into a tree killing themselves and 4 other teenagers in the process while returning drunk from a Saturday night disco.
I didn't get the BMW vibe at all. I had my MX-5 for fun and an Accord / Saab / Volvo for every day driving. Then I test drove the E60 got hooked big time and thought - screw the image - this car is awesome.
OT - I have some (I think ;-) ) cool night shots like in my avatar of my E60 here:

If you'd like to download big versions for wallpapers, etc they're here:
