i think you guys are asking wayyyyyyyy too much from BMW...they have provided us with an amazing piece of machine but...nooooooo we are not happy because it doesn't include a temp gauge....
We are happym with our cars, but it would even be better if there would be everything in it we want. Even though I wouldn't use a temp gauge or a voltage gauge, but having it would be nice for those who miss it...

There is a way to display engine temp.

I have done it. I was amazed.

I had found a youtube video that showed how to do it.

Unfortunately I have not found how to make it permanently appear!

To me a temp gauge is an invaluable tool, and if you had an electric water pump let go on an e60 you would know why!

I can't understand why that stupid mpg vacuum gauge trumps a water temp gauge!

Here is a link on the secret sub menus:

The bmwhat app can show temp or voltage I believe.

There are some after market gauges. This one plugs into the USB port: BMW E60 Gauge Kits and Data Acquisition | Turner Motorsport

Also you could get a usb charger w/ voltage meter that plugs into the cigarette lighter. A temp gauge sure would be nice though. Don't see any way to add that
