RAS,
don't feel bad. i've taken my car in for an oil leak 4 seperate times to two dealerships and they still can't get it right. The car has spent a total of almost 4 weeks in the shop.
BMW customer service keeps giving me the runaround.

My 7/2004 build 545i has been in the shop now for a week -- replacement gas tank for the 1 gallon-at-a-time fill-up problem. If BMW parts has a run on fuel tank replacements, some people could be waiting quite a while. Fortunately, this is the only real defect I've found on the car in 4000 miles.

I feel for you. I had mine in the shop for a little over two weeks over the holidays. My loaner was from enterprise (I sure missed the BMW). Talk to the dealer and see if they will move you up to a 5 series or x5.

So long as they have given you a loaner and they're repairing your car...you can't do that much :'( . Like the others said, ask again for a 5 series loaner if/when available.

I feel your pain, mine was in for 2 weeks awhile back for a dynamic drive failure. The deal is this... these cars are VERY complicated... VERY, and sometimes the electrical gremlins are hard to trace. they will fix it.. and the world will be good again. In the mean time , drive the C@ap out of the loaner

I was in for 28 days, then 14, now 2 and growing. Have had an X3 most of the time and an X5 right now. Think of it as a two for one. I do my hauling when I have the SUV.
