My Ride: 2006 BMW 520d SE - Jet Black - Advanced Air Con - Sports Suspension - Sports Steering Wheel - Extended Light Pack
Default

I'm hoping to chop my 2006 520d SE in for a new BMW, probably a 525d M-Sport and have just been looking at the media pack. The E60 Media Pack costs ?2365 and includes ?2870 worth of options which seems good value, but not when you compare it to the 1 series, on which you can order the 'Media Pack - Professional' for ?1890 which includes ?3895 worth of options!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to order a 1-series, it just seems that the value offered within the E60 package seems like comparatively poor VFM

Has anyone got an electronic copy of the UK brochure/pricelist for the LCI model yet as my local dealer only deals in heresay/ guesswork and can't provide one!!

Cheers

For the VFM -

For the official price list - go to www.bmw.co.uk and access the configurator. It shows all the prices.

The 1-series is in it 3rd year and there should be a facelift soon so they mit offer better stuff to sell the old 1s more.
Just like the X5 in HK before the new 1 came out, the old 1 cost 35% cheeper that before.
that is NEW car too.

It is the mechanism by which BMW and the dealers make money! I just bought my wife an 07 Honda CR-V EX for ?3k over an ES model but you get the following extra kit: Leather, sat nav with live traffic updates, voice control, panoramic sun roof, fully electric heated front seats, bluetooth, rear view parking camera, premium stereo and 18" alloys!

The 1-series facelift was introduced last weekend,
we also had the new E93 cab and the new X5 (E70) and of course the LCI E60 (E61) in the Finnish showrooms.

But it's a fact that the same parts for the 1-series costs more in the 3-series and even more for the E60.

Goes for metallic paint also but not the autotransmission

I would assume that they, unfortunately, put it in a &age relation to the base prices of the respective cars.
I agree with you, it's not right really, as it's effectively the same product, but fear we have to live with it, as with so many things

Fair comments :-)

Think I'll go for a Space Grey 525d MSport with beige leather, although my Mrs is violently opposed to this combination of paint and trim - has anyone a picture they could link to? (Have done search!)

Cheers

Yeah i saw some stuff on the 1 series recently , lots of new models from the German stable this year , 5, X5, and the Coupe 3.

Myself and 2 collogues were to buy 3 X 5series this year , 2 of us did at a cost of ?80k+ each with limited extras , see below , the 3rd guy got a Lexus IS250 with evey available extra for ?70K.

NoHedes if you look at my profile and posts you'll see some dealer info documents that were posted a while back , they are UK GBP and detail some costs and extras but not everything .

I'm getting Cream Beige hopefully in the next week or so will post some pics first chance i get. Thanks CL.
