My E60 JUST RAN out of warranty a few days ago. I have had no problems with anything but today I got these two errors. "Drive Control System" and "Start-off assistance inactive". Also when I make a left turn or right turn the blinker does not turn off anymore....I have to manually turn it off. First time it happened I stopped and turned off car and restarted it but it came back but now its off. I have a feeling it will be back soon.

Any ideas?

Shoot... I had an error myself one time. The car went into limp mode the drive shut off and I almost died... I pulled over, turned it off and restarted. Never had a problem since.

Did you check your fuses? It's worth a look.

Just a long shot (after fuse suggestion) but how old is your battery? Have you had to reset time/date at all? Sometimes these electrical problems aren't really problems at all but the car shutting down non-essential systems as a battery wears out. Long shot I know. I had ABS, time, date, DTC issues as my battery sailed into the sunset.

Whats strange is my turn signal won't shut off automatically. So lets say I am signaling to make a left or right turn and I make the turn I have to manually shut it off. Makes me think there is some sort of error going on.

Battery is the original battery. Never had the time/reset problem.

I had the "Drive Control System" and "Start-off assistance inactive" problem. BMW had to replace my SZL steering angle sensor. It's a $500 part. That part pretty much contains all the controls on the steering wheel. When I had mine replaced, BMW forgot to program in my tilt wheel adjustments. I had to bring the car back in so that they can program it. My guess is your turn signal switches may be affected since if the steering angle sensor went out, it doesn't know when the steering wheel is back to center to cancel the turn signal.

BTW, I think there is a recall on this. When mine went out I did some research and saw that some people took the steering wheel apart and blew dirt and dust out of the module and since then it works fine. I didn't bother doing that since mine is still under warranty.

Since your warranty just went out. I would be real nice to an SA and to have him/her hook you up and see if you can get it fixed under warranty.

Yeah my SA is a cool guy. I have CPO but I think this is not covered under CPO.

Hmmm...I'm not sure, but I think it might be. After all, it's a component of the car's safety feature...isn't it?
