I will keep it for 3 years. And maybe longer if I don't have much trouble with it..

I hope 10 years will be fine. I expect there will be some expense in the last couple of years, but a well-cared-for 10-15K/year should be OK, I hope.

I have had mine almost a year. It still drives and feels brand new. At this rate, I would think my wife can expect it in about four years. I will need a 560 by that time.

when my lease run out. nov of 2005 then I buy one (e60). By then most of the bugs will go away.

It is a good policy to always lease cars when they come out with new styles.

Its a 3 year business lease, but I will probably only keep it till the 2006 model, when they do a new body style, hopefully it will look awesome, anyone have the inside scoop on what it will look like?

I would think that you would have to do a couple of 3-yr leases to get a new bodystyle. How abou the 6-series?

My current plan is to lease my 2005 545i. If I start having trouble with it, I will return it at the end of my lease. If my experiance with the car is good. I will buy it. This strategy has worked for me in the past.

I agree with another member regarding leasing and a completely new body/electronics. In my opinion, it takes a good 2-3 years to get all the bugs out.

Once I resolve all my outstanding debt, I'll think about upgrading to 545i. I have a very good reason to upgrade to 545i: My wife does not like this car much because it does not have Xenon
Once our financial situation back on track, we'll head for Munich and enjoy Autobahn.
