How to properly remove the black roof plastic trim below, is it the same as the dome lights? 2 metal clips?
Also can an OEM microphone be attached on the inside of this plastic trim (see circle in photo) or a new one is needed?

When I removed mine there were two clips at rear. I placed a plasic fish bone or similar tool and popped in out by prying down. When install you need to pull the lite down from the rearca little the engage the rear plastic throm that you previously removed. Engage at the rear and then bring the lite and trim pnl together at once while pushing upward.

So is it better to just drop down the lights before removing that plastic trim?

looking at your picture again, I think it comes out by its self. I have a LCI and the two parts connect. You have what appears to be headliner between the two so I think it is removed the same, but individually.

Yes they are 2 separate parts as I have removed the light part before to put in some LEDs, but never the black plastic bit, that's why I'm wondering if there are 2 metal clips that hold in place like the dome light.

Any idea if a mic fits behind that trim? Seems like there are holes on either side but will the mic snap in on the other side? Or a new trim is needed?
