Windshield cowl fitting problem, please help with pictures of your part fitting

Default Windshield cowl fitting problem, please help with pictures of your part fitting

So I've changed the windshield cowl, as the rubber seal was broken, but I have the feeling they didn't fit it as they should.

Let me explain with the pictures attached. So what I believe is, that the cowl (green arrow), should have been fitted UNDER the plastic trim part marked with the red arrow, makes no sense to be fitted like this, looks weird and it seems to be somehow off...

could you please go to your E60s, an snap some pictures of that specific area and let me know how your cowl is fitted on your car? and post them here?

Would be much appreciated as my OCD is acting up...
