E60 draining battery
 

Hi all,

My e60 530d is driving me crazy

It randomly drains the battery to a point it doesn't start. It can run fine for 5 weeks and they play up.

I changed the battery last year from 90ah manufacture one to 110 ah bosch s5

I did re program the ecu .

Yesterday the battery was drained once more. My wife mentioned it happened as she forgot to switch off the head light.

This seems reasonable and not comparable to other occasion where it has drained for now obvious reason.


Now i would expect the battery to last at least a bit even with lights on.
I haven't tested this but think when you switch the engine off , only parking lights remain on and not low beam.

I am going to test it but even if low beam xenon was on, would it drain the battery in 10-15 minutes which is when the car goes to sleep and shuts off all electricity supplies regardless?
