Thought I'd start a thread on the longevity of these units. It might be good too see exactly who has had any issues and at what miles.

Mine is a 525D Auto 2007 LCI, 10,000 miles 525d (197) and no failures.

Anyone else care to join in? If so, just list hat model, year, miles so far and whether any engine components have failed (Turbo, Manifold, Swirlflaps, MAF etc and at what miles).

530d Auto (March 2006) 91,563 miles - engine has never missed a beat! No failures of any sort with the engine or chassis. iDrive, now that's a different storey.................

(Also, front discs and pads are still orignial!)

Use, but don't abuse :)

Mine is a 2007 (April) 525d M-Sport LCI (197ps 3.0d) with Manual gearbox and has covered 35k miles with no engine failures.

Only problem I have had was with iDrive freezing when car was 3 months old, which required replacement CCC and recoding.
