is the picture on autospies of the update? because it doesn't look any different to me than the current fiver. I compared it to the image on the BMWUSA site and it looks exactly the same. Can anyone point out the differences to me in those image?

The facelift will not happen before September production in 2007!

But new engines can be introduced before that.

Yup thats how all our cars were... expired sooo fast! Stupid BMW... 525 530 new engine... 545 throw out the window. now 530 again has a better 535... and 545 is junk now since the 535t will be basically just as fast and is easily tunable...
