E60 climate control gone dead
few days ago it's power went off when I first ignited the car (all the lights gone, nothing works) and heard the fan's blowing on the dash but it came back soon. (maybe 10-20 secs)
but yesterday it happened again while I'm driving and it's totally dead. F3 fuse was good , couldn't check the F30 fuse. no error codes on info. or dash haven't turned any heater/cooler on for past couple months should I just changed the panel ? is there any possibility it's caused from other parts ? |
It could be a host of things, but I'd start out by looking for an intermittent connection (because of the off/on/off nature of the problem so far). You might get lucky and wiggle a cable / component / computer that causes the lights to come on / off, and from there you can probably find the issue easily. The next step would be to start taking a few measurements with a voltmeter - I'm thinking that it will be easier to trace out a "totally dead" climate control than one that's just acting up.

don't know why but this actually worked I just pulled out the trim and wiggled those cables few times and it came back to life but gotta keep my eyes close to it thnks |
Sometimes it's just a little bit of funk on one of the connectors, and wiggling it will "clean it" (a very subjective, limited use of that term). Ideally, you'd continue wiggling and you'd find the one connector / cable that could repeatably induce a failure / fix. Then you would remove that connector, REALLY clean the pins (male and female, if I'm still allowed to use those terms) and you will probably have really fixed it.
