Hello,
This is my first post after purchasing a 2007 E60 525d. It?s an excellent car, with the only problem that it has no navigation.
I saw on Ebay a 2008 E60 business navigation system that I purchased for just over £400. When the unit arrived however, I noticed the shape and position of the buttons did not fit the current trim panel. After some searching, I discovered that there are only two trim panels available from BMW, the one for the standard radio and the one for the professional navigation system.
I have attached a couple of photos of the unit I purchased. I would be really grateful if someone could let me know if this is indeed a unit that will fit an E60, or have I been sold a unit for a different model.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Paul

That panel is for the LCI car. I'm guessing your's isn't LCI?? Therefore, you'd need the pre LCI bud.

Yeah I heard the LCI trim came out on 2008 models. 2007 is pre-LCI. If the eBay description does in fact say that it's for a 2008 E60, the seller didn't really mislead you. Good luck in returning it.

Don't quote me, as my electrical knowledge is a bit sparse, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if BMW have put in a different loom so as to stop people doing that. Not 100% though!

BMW European navigation comes in two flavours :-
Business nav, 1 dvd slot no buttons 2003-2007 (Europe), 8 buttons 2007-2010 (Europe)
Professional nav 1 cd / 1 dvd slot no buttons 2003-2007 (Europe), 8 buttons 2007-2010 (Europe)
If your only adding business nav then you only need the correct M-ask (Multi-audio system kontroler) unit which is what you tried to buy but it will need programming
at a BMW dealer for around £300 and can take up to 7 hours or an independent with an Autologic system.
What month in 2007 was your car built? if it is after march you will need the 2007 M-ask with the 8 buttons.
