E60 brakes

I knew there were differences in the brake system among E60 models. That's why some models have 16" as standard rims, an other ones have 17" (or 19" for the M5).
I found out these differences about the brake discs :
FRONT DISCS :

525i & 525d have 320 (disc diameter in milimeters) X 22 (disc thickness in milimeters) disks
530i & 530d have 324 X 28
545i & 535d have 348 X 28
550i has 348 X 36
REAR DISCS : 530i & 530d have 324 X 28
545i & 535d have 348 X 28
550i has 348 X 36
525i,525d,530i & 530d have 320 X 18
545i,535d & 550i have 345 X 22

how about getting 545i brake disc and pads to 530i???? is it possible?
if so why not, I've got to exchange the pads soon anyway so I can just pay a little more for the discs and calipers...... or does something more needs to be replaced?

If you are getting new pads, you may want to consider low dust pads. A friend of mine has them on his 2002 M5, 2001 X5 and Boxster and swears by them. I am installing them on my 550i next week (Axxis deluxe plus). They have all the performance of the OEM pads but WAY less brake dust. They only offer front pads for the E60 545/550 at this time, not sure if front and rear are available for the 530i.

Since amianta is forbidden in the brake pads, constructors have a lot of difficulties to build efficient pads ! They make noise & a lot of dust which is bad for the rims ! They are also more expensive. But be sure of the quality when you buy non OEM pads, because they may distroy your brakes discs !

Thanks for the heads up. I generally shy away from aftermarket parts, but the thought of cleaning my rims even half as often, makes the risk worth it to me. Plus my friend has run them on several of his cars with no problems. Hopefully I will have a happy story to report back in 30,000k.

ok guys, that is for the pads but what about 545 break system to 530i??
