hi,

my e60 has the aux input in the back and now having that plugged in with my children does not mix, as they keep pulling it, know if i want to take the aux in and take through the back of center console, will that be a mission to do?

also i read that the e60 should have one in the front anyway if its after 2006.

thanks in advance.

Easiest solution? Just tell the kids "DON'T TOUCH!!" Who's in charge?

BMW never install the AUX in the front from the factory. AUX-IN in the glove was always a retrofit option. But you can very easily move the rear AUX-IN into the armrest under the eject box.

You need to remove the air vent. Replace it with 51169136586, move your AUX into that Mounting bracket and then fill up the original hole with a blanking plate 64228385142

i know this is an OLD thread but I finally got around to doing this today. i found the parts listed above online and they were exactly what is required to do the job.

taking out the center console is tedious but following this writeup it was pretty straightforward.

it's nice having the aux in the console like all you LCI folks

man you're not kidding, that does look tedious. I can have the center console in my E30 out in about 180 seconds.

Can't for the life of me not understand why ppl still, bother with the aux this day and age of Bluetooth when I got my E60 it did not have an aux installed and I put it in however w/o the socket in the back instead hooked up a Bluetooth PC board receiver to stream music, who needs that socket and wires these days?? All hidden under the console, no kids to kick anything or break things there.
