My Ride: I have a 2007 Black Sapphire BMW 530i with SMG. It has the auburn interior, has PDC, Sports Package, Premium Package, rear automatic sunshades with manual side sunshades, 35% black tint, Upgraded angeleyes from Angelibrights, and Logic 7 Sound System
Model Year: 2007
Default

So i figured out that if you press the unlock button and hold it, you can put the windows down. How do you put them up again?. Also, can you open the sunroof like this??

Hey houbmw, if you were looking for the answer that you can use the key fob to put the window back up, you're out of luck. You can't. At least in the US. I think e60s elsewhere can though. Why can't we? Legality issues.

Hey if thats the case, its strange why they removed that functionality in the states!

If i keep holding the button pressed, my sunroof opens up as well. And when i hold down the lock button everything closes up again.

L-A-W-Y-E-R. US is a very litigious country. Just give us another reason how and why we can sue BMW. You don't have the lawyer screen either right? We see it everytime the car starts.

In the UK holding the lock button closes all the windows. The UK cars sense an object blocking the window, opening again to prevent injury. Do the US' cars have a similar system, if so don't understand why the US cars don't allow window closure using the lock button.

The US cars also have the anti trap feature. But we're too stupid to be given the ability to close the windows remotely.

You can also thank our legal system for those wonderful window switches you now see in BMWs. Gone are the rocker switches from the E12's - E39's.
