My new 2006 530i is arriving on Thursday! I went with:

Black Sapphire Metallic
Black Leather
Premium Package
Automatic
Cold Weather Package (couldn't find one without it - good if I move out of FL)
Sirius Radio

Questions:
1. Will I miss the 5 speed that I am leaving behind in my 2003 325ci?
2. Where can I get better fog light bulbs to match the Xenons?
3. Is there any performance software out of the E60 - 530i?

I will definitely post pics on Thursday when I take delivery...

Thanks in advance.

2. Where can I get better fog light bulbs to match the Xenons? searh, dont know

Cool. I want to see the pics of your car. I love the sapphire color and black was always my favorite interior, so I would love to see some pics of your color combo.

Get some good ones on a sunny day to really see the sapphire color come to life.........please

I was thinking the sapphire with the Auburn interior would look stunning. If not Auburn, then black interior for sure.

If you like driving with a manual transmission, yes.

But the thrill of having an E60 will make you forget about it, I'm sure.

There are many threads here that cover this, such as:

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=5912

3.? Is there any performance software out of the E60 - 530i?
Yes. DMS Automotive has software out for the 530i (N52). But I'm personally hesitant because no one can tell me definitively if the upgrade is undone with a CIP upgrade.

You will miss the manual if you enjoyed shifting. I went from a 328i manual to my current steptronic. The transmission choice is the only thing I have ever regretted about my current car even though the automatic transmission is excellent. I missed shifting, which is why I ordered a manual for my new car.

Good luck with the car. You will surely enjoy it anyway.

I hope you don't regret the auto option too much. I just did the same thing. I have been driving a stick as my daily driver for the last 24 years. I know I will miss the stick.

My reasons are probably a little different: I ordered a 530xi with auto so that my wife can drive it in the winter without having to worry about snow and manually tranny at the same time. She does not have a lot of snow experience.

When we trade her car in (in about 2 more years), we'll get something with a stick. Right now, her car is a girly 330Cic with Step.

I hope that I don't miss it either! Although, here in South Florida the traffic is really bad so it might make the commute easier to tolerate. Its funny, I feel slightly guilty and sad about giving up my 325ci - I love that car.

Woops! It should be ready in the early afternoon. The car was built in September, but I don't have the exact date. I am trying to figure out by the VIN if I have the Start/Stop button or not. Any suggestions?
