Where do the Stepronic transmissions come from for the 525i and 530i?

I thought on all e60's bmw put in ZF tranys, the the e90's were not so lucky. I may be mistaken though. I might be only the Sport pack and DSG's ...

Not sure about the E60's.

The E39 525i and 528i use the GM sourced tranny.

The 128i and 328i has a GM sourced tranny, and 135i and 335i use the ZF tranny.

After further research. The 525i, 530i, and 545i all use a ZF of Germany tranny.

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.

I think the 525,528 and 530 use the GM unit and the 535 and 550 use the ZF units.

I think this is in the info section , in some of the pdfs, I just don't have time to re read them at his moment.
