My Ride: 2006 E60 550i & 2008 335xi - Both Monaco Blue
Hi All,
I've seen various threads across this forum and other forums where people ask what the production numbers are for 550i manuals or 550i's for a specific year or specific colors or other options. I simply would like to know what are the production numbers for the 550i during the E60 production run? From searches across various car for sale websites, it appears as though 550i's devalue a lot quicker than any other E60's. I'm guessing they are less desirable as a used V8 BMW due to running costs? Maybe its wishful thinking but I was wondering if a well-kept E60 550i would become more desirable in the coming years? I've noticed that E39 540i's in good, low mileage condition are selling for quite some dollars (especially if manual). I'm just curious how an E60 V8 may be perceived in the future, especially considering that the design was quite polarizing for its time.
Regards

Even if no one has production numbers, does anyone have thoughts on the subject and why Non-M BMW's with V8's seem to devalue so quickly? My guess is that most people can't afford it (causing these cars to be scrapped) or are scared of maintenance woes and costs in the long term.
