Progman 25 installed, 2-1 tip in code done.......................no difference, slam still present.
What a surprise.
The 320D loaner I had for 3 days whilst they did it had a superb transmission, no hint of tranny slam.

For some reason it takes that long for the problems to ocure again after the software updates.

To throw salt on the wound my 2005 X5 4.4 transmission slammed again last week. What is the deal with these transmissions? :thumbsdown: The only good news is that I am working with BMWNA to try and resolve this.

BMWing, are you sure they ran the 2-1 Tip-in Code program when they updated you to v25? I got mine back last week and it's like a new machine. Buttery smooth shifts, no slams, and even the stutter-stop issue seems to have been resolved. Now I can't wait to go for a drive every morning!

I am still having the same transmission problems after all softare updates. Is anyone else still having these transmission problems?

I have verified the 2-1 Tip-in code was installed 8 weeks ago. That's when I felt the problem was possibly solved but after around 30 days the transmission was back to the same old 1-2nd gear jerky/hesitation/slam problems. I have 25.04 and it made NO difference to the transmission.

My fear is that the 2-1 Tip-In Code that initially fixed the problem is being thwarted by the "learning" transmission. I'll bet the Tip-In Code also flashes the tranny's memory so it has to start learning (or screwing up) all over again. The problem is tolerable for now but if it gets any worse I'm going to take the car back in and have them rerun the Code to test my theory.
