E60 530xd LCI lowering the suspenssion
Hello,
I´m from Slovakia and have been trying to find an answer for my question at the Slovak BMW forum so far without success. So I hope here I will find somebody who can help me out with his thoughts or the best would be if somebody had real experience with the issue. I would like to buy BMW M5 springs as I always wanted to get my E60 lowered and maybe get an even stiffer feel for my ride I´m contemplating upon buying those sprigns. The thing is, that I only want to change the springs and leave the dampers stock. I don´t really know how much lower would the M5 springs bring the car...I assume about 3 centimeters in comparison to my stock x-drive dampers and springs. If any of you have tried putting M5 or similar springs on stock dampers, how did they feel, what are your experiences with such a setup and didn´´t the shorter springs cause any damage on the dampers after a short period of tie using the springs on stock dampers??? The most important question is, how do the stock dampers cope with the shorter springs??? Won´t the M5 springs on stock dampers cuase damage on the dampers in a much shorter time than with the usual stock springs, how will the stock dampers bear the shorter springs? Won´t they start leaking after a few thousand kilometers because of the springs? Thank you in advance for any help and suggestions
