E60 530i v F30 328i
Hi guys,
Just wondering... driving comfort-wise, would the F30 328i have a better driving comfort than the E60? Or the E60 would still be better? |
There's certainly one way to find out...

Haha exactly.. but define comfort.... in my mind in no way could the 3 series be more comfortable.. unless you mean driving a smaller car is easier...

Having owned a 2008 335i and now a 2010 535i XDrive and recently using a loaner 2015 328i XDrive for four days while my car was in for repairs, I will give some input here.
Compared to my E90, the F30 is definitely quieter while cruising. Overall road noise is much reduced. However it is like they have tried too hard to get engine noise into the cabin. Under moderate to hard acceleration the car sounds comical. Upon leaving the dealership and merging onto the freeway I was looking around to find the ricer with the fart can exhaust trying to race me only to find it was my loaner F30 making the noise. While it is tough to make comparisons of my E90 and the F30 due to the fact that my E90 had the factory sport suspension and rear wheel drive versus the F30's standard issue suspension and all wheel drive, the one thing that certainly stands out compared to both my E90 and E60 is the steering feel sucks on the new car. The electric assist steering in the new F series has ruined the traditional BMW steering feel. And my loaner was a 2015. Supposedly they improved the steering feel drastically in 2014/2015 F30s. I can't imagine it any worse! Overall compared to my E60, the F30 offers a slightly choppier ride with a just a bit more road noise, but compared to the E90 it is noticeably quieter and rides better. The F30 still feels smaller and more agile than the E60 despite the crap steering feel, although it does not feel as nimble as an E90. Bottom line: The E60 is still more comfortable than the F30. The F10 is like driving a couch compared to both of them. |
