Please assist, I have a 2003 E60 530d that occasionally when I have been at idle for a short time, say 20 seconds to a minute, and I pull away the car losses power, the Engine management warning comes on and the engine shuts down usually accompanied with a puff smoke coming out of the exhaust. If I turn the ignition off and back on, all is ok. I could drive for an hour or more without it happening again. It does not happen once the car is going. Some times if i ease of the accelerator when it starts to loose power and re-apply the accelerator the car would also be back to normal but the Engine management warning stays on till I restart.
Any ideas?

Whilst the symptoms may mean something to someone I think you're really going to have to get the codes read. Particularly with the EML coming on.
